Jennifer Duncan has proven to be an extremely dedicated volunteer for Bluegrass Hospice Care’s Frankfort office.  Because of a commitment to the Bluegrass Hospice Care’s mission and her own experiences with hospice, Jenni is driven to serve others in need.

Jenni’s support for our agency began in 1994 when she first began volunteering for bereavement camps for children who had lost a loved one.

In 2013, Jenni joined the committee for the agency’s annual fundraising event in Frankfort, where she spent much time and energy to ensure its success.

A proud Owen County resident, Jenni put together a committee of 5 other Owen County ladies – Dawn Davis, Debbie Whobrey, Judy Hetterman, Patti Parker Gaines and Tina McNay – to host a new fundraiser in Owenton to support the work of Bluegrass Hospice Care.  “Friends of Hospice” is an annual Derby Day breakfast filled with exciting entertainment, door prizes, a cake auction, photo booth and raffles.

Today, Jenni’s vision has become a reality and after three years, the event has raised nearly $14,000.

We salute Jenni and were pleased to honor her with a Hospice Hero award in December for her commitment to furthering the mission of Bluegrass Hospice Care everywhere, but especially in her hometown of Owenton, Ky. Thank you Jenni!
