Prescription drug costs continue to rise and many individuals and families face an extreme financial burden when getting necessary prescriptions. KPAP is a program that helps this issue by giving Kentuckians access medications free or at reduced prices.
Eligibility for KPAP is based upon income, with guidelines set by the participating drug manufacturers. Many companies even allow individuals to have insurance as long as the medicines for which they are requesting are not covered by their policy benefits. Individuals at or below the federal poverty level or senior citizens in the Medicare “doughnut hole” may be eligible. Clients whose income or resources make them ineligible will get recommendations about other sources for their medications.
To see if you or a loved one might be eligible for KPAP or to learn more about the program, please visit KPAP’s website or call 800-633-8100.
