In a study at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston, 88 percent of respondents indicated that a chaplaincy visit was helpful for patients facing a serious illness. When faced with unequivocally tough times in an individual’s life, chaplains provide unrelenting support and comfort. Chaplains go beyond religion to focus on spirituality.
